Preparation starts with documents showing the basis of the debt, repayments and communication history. This checklist supports an initial assessment; it is not a formal list of attachments for every procedure. Requires individual legal assessment.
Documents for an initial assessment
Prepare the basis of the debt, evidence that the contract was performed, an account of amounts and payments, a chronology and information about the debtor’s country of residence. If court proceedings have taken place, include court documents, the commencement date, the judgment and service documents. Do not assume that every printout is sufficient: the lawyer handling the matter determines the formal requirements.
Organise the material
Keep originals and readable copies. Prepare a chronology and a separate breakdown of the principal, payments, balance, costs and interest for assessment. Do not add unverified claims about assets or reasons for the debtor’s departure.
Secure transfer
Do not publish documents or third-party details in comments. Establish the recipient and a secure channel before sending them. For the first contact, a short description of the type of debt and whether a judgment exists is sufficient. Requires individual legal assessment.
