You describe your situation using the form — free and non-binding. No documents at this stage.
We review the enquiry and, if it can be handled, prepare it for a regulated Polish advocate or legal counsel.
With your separate consent, the lawyer assesses the case, proposes a scope and quotes fees individually.
Most matters are handled remotely — under a power of attorney, with updates in English or Polish.
Who we are. Twoja Sprawa is an information and intermediary platform operated by Plutos Team Agent Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 12923103 (Companies House).
Who does the legal work. Regulated Polish advocates (adwokat) and legal counsels (radca prawny). We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice; the lawyer decides whether to take a case.
Verified information. Guides are based on official sources (Polish legislation, gov.pl, GOV.UK, HMRC, EUR-Lex) with the verification date stated on each article, and are reviewed before being indexed.
Your data. Processed under UK GDPR, data minimisation by design — no document uploads in the first contact form.
Can a British citizen buy property in Poland?
In many cases yes, but after Brexit British citizens are treated as non-EEA foreigners, so some purchases — for example houses with land or larger plots — may require a permit from the Polish Ministry of the Interior. A self-contained flat is generally exempt. Each case depends on the property type and your situation, so it should be checked individually.
Does buying a property give me the right to live in Poland?
No. Property ownership and the right of residence are separate. Residence in Poland has its own routes (work, business, family, study and others), and owning a home is not one of them, although it may support some applications as evidence of accommodation.
Can I buy without travelling to Poland?
Usually yes. The transfer deed must be signed before a Polish notary, but you can be represented under a notarial power of attorney prepared in the UK with an apostille and a sworn translation, or prepared at a Polish consulate. A lawyer can also carry out checks and settlements remotely.
How much does the initial assessment cost?
Nothing. The initial review of your enquiry is free and non-binding. Any further work is quoted individually by the lawyer before you decide.
Do you handle cases in the UK?
No. Cases are handled in Poland only, by regulated Polish lawyers. We do not advise on UK law; where UK aspects matter (for example UK tax), our guides point to official UK sources such as GOV.UK and HMRC.
In what language will I be served?
English or Polish — your choice. Documents for Polish authorities are prepared in Polish; sworn translations are arranged where needed.
Tell us about your situation. We reply in English or Polish. The case is assessed and handled by a regulated advocate or legal counsel in Poland.
The content of this page and the linked guides is general legal information, not legal advice. Whether and how the rules apply depends on your individual circumstances — nationality, residence status, the type and location of the property, and your family and tax situation. Each guide states its verification date and sources. For an individual assessment, speak to a regulated Polish lawyer.
